We invite graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to submit poster proposals in all three areas or any combination of three areas: Biology, Social Sciences and Humanities. (Poster proposals will be accepted only from graduate students and post-doctoral fellows; no proposals by regular faculty or independent scholars will be considered.)
All proposals should have an evolutionary dimension. Please submit an abstract of not more than 100 words. In your proposal, be as specific as possible about your subject matter, your methodology, and your chief findings or arguments. The posters will be continuously on display at the conference, and a special poster session will be scheduled. Prizes will be offered in various areas: best overall poster, best in one of the three disciplinary areas (biology, social sciences, humanities), best poster that involves primary research in at least two of the three areas, and best new investigator. Prizes will be announced toward the end of the conference. Deadline for submitting a poster proposal is March 15, 2012.
The easels we have available at the university are two feet by three feet, and can go either horizontally or vertically. We recommend that once you arrive, you have the poster sheets backed with a foam core. Office-Max or FedEx Office can do that once you arrive. If you do have it on a foam core, the easels will accommodate these standard sizes (in inches): 24 x 35, 36 x 56 and 48 x 35.
